The Tapes
just a figment of your imagination.
About
The Tapes began many years ago, back in 2004 to be more specific when me and my friends dubbed our voices over Pirates of the Caribbean, Curse of the Black Pearl on my birthday. Then I uploaded a couple clips on youtube so my friends could watch it online later, and that's how it all begin. We never expected to get any feedback from anyone else on youtube... let alone good comments. We also couldn't believe that anyone but ourselves found all the stuff we said to be funny. But since lots of people did and became fans of our random improv dubbing, I decided to leave the account online and update it whenever I had time (and remembered to).
The Movies
We really like the movies that we dub our voices over. We don't really want to make fun of the characters because we think they or the movies on their own are stupid... but we like to dub them because we like the characters that much to start with we like thinking how they would act if they were different or thought how we wanted them to think.
We get asked a lot whether we actually like the movies, which is surprising to me, but I guess now you know that we do! We are also not trying to claim that the movies are ours in any way either, we know we don't own them, only our own voice recordings. Since lots of fans on Youtube make similar videos, we feel that we may as well keep them online since they make people laugh.
Here is the list of the awesome movies we have butchered/made funnier:
- Pirates of the Caribbean and The Curse of the Black Pearl
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
- Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Man's Chest
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
- Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Our Fans
Our fans are obviously the most awesome people on youtube and myspace! The Tapes still wouldn't be around without your positive attitudes, open minds and funny comments (I read all of them). I also try to reply to fanmail and youtube messages whenever possible. So this is just a shout out to all those that support the tapes! =)
